Dáil na nÓg:
Children and young people from all over the country to speak out and
demand change!
- 15 November 2003 -
On
Saturday 15 November 2003 at Croke Park, Dublin, from 10.30am – 4.00pm, 190 delegates (aged 12 – 18) will attend Dáil na nÓg, 163 of whom were elected through their local Comhairlí na nÓg, co-ordinated by County/City Development Boards. 37 delegates came through a Comhairle na nÓg
organised to ensure the inclusion of hard to reach groups of young people.
The themes selected by delegates, from the 10 special initiatives in Sustaining
Progress, for discussion at the Dáil are:
Drug and Alcohol Abuse
Educational Disadvantage
During the plenary session, delegates will put forward key concerns and recommendations arising from workshop discussions, to the Minister for Children, Brian Lenihan TD.
Recommendations and outcomes will be followed up and negotiated by young delegates themselves, through the social partnership process.
